Praise for Bazza junior

Grimsby Town have confirmed the signing of Boston Town's teenage goalkeeper Callum Bastock.

Grimsby Town have confirmed the signing of Boston Town's teenage goalkeeper Callum Bastock.

The 16-year-old son of Boston United legend Paul is heading for Blundell Park on a two-year scholarship.

Bastock had a dramatic debut for the Poachers in a Boxing Day win over Sleaford when he ended up in hospital being treated for concussion.

His spell at Tattershal Road coincided with Boston's best run of the season which saw them win five and draw one of the seven matches he played.

Town's joint manager Ian Dunn said the youngster had done a fantastic job for the club.

Harry Ashton, brother of ex-Boston United defender Simon, has arrived from the Mariners' youth academy and made his debut in goal Tuesday’s 2-1 win against Yaxley.
