Charity is winner at Legends game

Boston Town beat Boston United in old boys` game

The Poachers held sway against the Pilgrims in a nostalgic charity match at Tattershall Road.

Old faces Dave Scotney, Mark Lovelace and Matt Price were among the scorers as the Boston Town Legends XI beat their Boston United counterparts 5-3.

The Town side, managed by Bob Don-Duncan, had trailed 3-1 at half-time but won the game in the second half, with current player and director Lori Borbely on the scoresheet.

Poachers joint boss Ian Dunn was full of praise for both teams.

He said: "Not many towns could put on two sets of non-league class on a pitch like Boston United and Boston Town did today."

The game was part of a fun day raising money for the Butterfly Hospice Trust.
