ON SALE: Boston Town book

You can buy the 200-page history of the club for a bargain £5

The Boston Town book Come And Sit With Us is now back on sale for half price.

It was originally published in 2004 to mark the club's 40th anniversary.

Now it's available to buy again for a bargain £5.

The book tells the complete history of Boston Town Football Club, from the original controversy with Boston United which led to the formation of Boston FC in 1964 to famous cup runs including the unforgettable FA Cup tie at Barnsley and the year the Poachers were a whisker away from playing at Wembley in the FA Vase Final.

Written by Boston journalist and lifelong Poachers fan Simon Ashberry, Come And Sit With Us is published by Tucann Books, based in Heighington, Lincoln.

The 200-page book contains more than 50 archive photos.

Come And Sit With Us had excellent reviews when it first came out.

Lincolnshire Life magazine described it as:“Well researched and readable, rattling along at a good dribbler’s pace, with enlivening personal quotes.”

Boston United historian Ken Fox wrote: “An excellent read - go out and buy one now if you haven't already! It's got lots of great anecdotes.”

Simon said: "Everyone thought the original print run had all been sold but the publishers recently discovered a couple of extra boxes they had forgotten about.

"I wanted to put it on sale again at a much reduced price because there are plenty of players, officials and supporters at Boston Town today who weren't necessarily involved with the club nine years ago when it was first published.

"It was fascinating to do the research and discover the true story of how the club came into existence and hopefully anyone connected with the club would find it intriguing too."

If you're interested in buying a copy of the Boston Town book, email or contact a club official to reserve a copy for just £5.
