Recognition for Pam

Sports awards take place on Friday 7 February

Pam Massam will find out on Friday (7 February)  if she's a winner n the Boston Standard Sports Awards.

She has earned a deserved nomination for the Services To Sport award for her unstinting efforts in local football.

Pam is best known at Tattershall Road for running the tea bar with husband Pete - as well as carrying out numerous other duties!

In 2007 Pam also won a Valued Service to Football award for her 30 years of hard work in the sport.

She first got involved in football through her son, also called Pete, who went on to play for the Poachers.

The full citation for the Boston Standard Sports Awards reads: "Affectionately known as 'Mrs Raffle', she works on a daily basis for Boston football at all levels from juniors to semi-professional. She is widely recognised and highly regarded by the soccer community for her sterling efforts."

Also on the shortlist are Boston Hockey Club secretary Andrew Barlow and James Vickers from Boston Rugby Club.

The awards night had been scheduled for early December but was postponed in the wake of the floods.

The event has now been rearranged for Friday 7 February. It will take place at the Assembly Rooms from 7pm, hosted by BBC Radio Lincolnshire presenter Scott Dalton.
