Sam signs for Town

Poachers capture Grimsby youth player on loan

Boston Town have snapped up teenage Grimsby Town striker Sam Loughran on loan.

He's the latest player to come to Tattershall Road from the Mariners.

Poachers boss Nathan Collins said: "He's just returned from a loan spell at Evo-Stik League club Scarborough Athletic. Sam's 19 and was part of the Hull City youth set-up before he joined Grimsby."

Sam joined Scarborough on work experience last month but was recalled to Blundell Park once their injury crisis eased.

Scarborough boss Rudy Funk told the Scarborough News: "Sam did well when he did feature for us. He proved to be a big handful when he turned out against Newcastle Town and we hope that he has learned plenty during his spell with us."
