Injury mars friendly

James Petronzio suffers broken leg

New signing James Petronzio suffered a broken leg in the Poachers' second pre-season friendly.

The injury marred an otherwise pleasing afternoon at the DWB Stadium in which the hosts earnt a creditable 1-1 draw against higher level opposition.

Opponents Lincoln United and ex-Boston Town legend Paul Goodhand were among those who sent their best wishes for a speedy recovery after hearing of his injury.

The 22-year-old former Grimsby Borough midfielder, who only signed for Town last week, was taken to Pilgrim Hospital for treatment.

Matt Kennedy converted a first half penalty but Callum Ward replied for the Northern Premier League side after the break.

First team coach said he was realy please with what was a very good, hard-working performance.
