Hall of Fame No. 9

Record-breaking goalscorer is the next entry into the Hall of Fame

Dave Scotney (Striker 1981 - 2008)

Who's this fresh-faced youngster?

None other than Dave Scotney, who broke into Boston FC's first team as a teenager as long ago as the 1980-81 season.

By the end of his glorious goalscoring career, he'd lost quite a lot of his hair but none of that impish finishing prowess that first marked him out as a striker to be feared.

His exploits saw him become the all-time leading scorer in United Counties League history, having also had spells at other Lincolnshire clubs.

Nicknamed Toby, he tried to retire at the age of 38, after earning a championship medal with the Poachers.

In fact, he went on to play right into his mid-40s, going on to pass the incredible landmark of 300 UCL goals and finally making his last appearance for Boston in April 2008 - the best part of three decades after his debut!
