Pat calls it a day

Well-known club official cites personal reasons

One of the Poachers' longer serving members of staff in recent times has called time on his involvement with the club.

Pat Megginson has cited personal reasons for his departure but disillusionment with league administration is known to have influenced his decision.

Pat joined in the 2008-09 season, initially to edit the Poachers match day magazine but became involved in the ongoing project to upgrade what is now the DWB Stadium, having developed links with League One side Chesterfield in order to aquire seating and other stadium items from their former Saltergate home.

Over the last five years he has also sought to improve the club's online presence working with Town's archivist and webmaster, Simon Ashberry, with whom he formed a great friendship.

Pat also forged links with Boston's community radio station, Endeavour, and was responsible for getting updates and news items to air. As a presenter with the station Pat still hopes to develop this relationship and, subject to a press box being being included in the ongoing development at the DWB, is looking for game commentaries to take place at the stadium.

He said: "It would be great if we can make regular visits to the DWB - people in the borough are missing out on good football. Dan (manager Barrett) is a great, young manager and - along with Carl (Foreman) and Lori (Borely) - is putting a great squad together."

Lori said: "I want to thank him on behalf of club and players/staff for all his hard work, effort and support during the years. He is always welcome back in the future."
