Ryan adds firepower

Caretaker manager Lori Borbely delighted to sign goalscorer Ryan Oliver

Hotshot striker Ryan Oliver has joined Boston Town from Evo-Stik League Spalding United.

It's a real coup for caretaker boss Lori Borbely, who takes charge on Saturday at home to Desborough for the first time since Dan Barrett's departure.

The former Stamford and Sleaford Town hitman was one of the hottest properties in the United Counties League last season, smashing 25 goals in 33 games for Deeping Rangers before being snapped up by the Tulips in September.

It had been rumoured that Spalding might want to loan Oliver out to get more game time - but Borbely is thrilled that he has now signed permanently for Boston.

His capture is a statement of intent from the DWB Stadium following the shock of Barrett's resignation.
