Boston Town 1, Wisbech 4

Wisbech continue their winning streak

Boston Town found Wisbech too hot to handle as the in-form Fenmen made it seven straight wins.

But there was no reason for caretaker boss Lori Borbely to feel downhearted as his hastily-remodelled side gave as good as they got for much of the game.

Alex Beck even put the hosts ahead on 26 minutes when he pounced after Wisbech keeper Lea Jordan made a hash of clearing a penetrating though-ball from Jack Wightwick.

Danny Beaumont levelled 12 minutes later and the Poachers were indebted to James Doughty for two high-class saves which prevented the visitors going ahead before the break.

After the interval Boston carved out plenty of good chances, with the livewire Aaron Eyett at the heart of most of their good work.

But it was Wisbech who were more clinical. Former Poacher Luke Wilson made it 2-1 before Beaumont added his second and Billy Smith gave the scoreline a flattering look with a fourth goal.

Boston newcomer Ryan Oliver came within a whisker of converting a dangerous free-kick and the evergreen Paul Goodhand, who came on for Tim Lowe, jinked his way goalwards but was foiled by a point-blank save by Jordan.

Town: Doughty, Jackson, Clancy (Broom), Wood, S Ashton, Lowe (Goodhand), Eyett, Pinner, Beck, Oliver, Wightwick (Orrey)
