Hall of Fame No. 28

Double-winning captain enters our Hall of Fame

Baz Barker (1987 - 1992)

A surefire way to be remembered by fans for years to come is to win trophies.

And Baz Barker made certain of doing just that by bringing silverware back to Tattershall Road after a lean spell.

Not only did he captain the side to the Central Midlands League charmpionship in 1988-89 but he also lifted the Lincs Senior A Cup in the same season to complete a rare double.

Baz was a big-hearted, larger-than-life player who was a natural leader on the field – a high-energy, tough-tackling midfield general.

He was one of a crop of Lincoln-based players who came to FC at that time and formed a key part of the title-winning side. Dean Dye, Mark Keyworth and the Park brothers Alf and Stu were also pivotal in the success enjoyed then.

But most of all, no one's going to forget the skipper in a hurry - and not just because he's likely to be the only Boston player will ever have called Barrington...

Debut: 3 October 1987 - Harworth Colliery Institute 3, Boston FC 0
