Hall of Fame No. 39

Diminutive Dean is chosen for our 50th anniversary Hall of Fame

Dean Dye (Striker, 1988 - 92)

A quick, diminituve striker with an eye for goal , Dean Dye formed a fruitful partnership with centre forward Gary Goddard under Bill Brindley.

They played up front together in the old fashioned number nine and number ten style.

Goddard ran the channels, winning the ball and holding it up, Dye buried it in the back of the net in unerring fashion.

Not that Goddard was goal-shy thoough - Dye and Goddard scored 21 each in the 1988-89 season!

The pair formed a lethal combination for a couple of seasons and played a major role in winning the Central Midlands League Supreme Division title.

Dye also enjoyed success with the likes of Nettleham, Lincoln United, Grantham, Worksop Town and Lincoln Moorlands.

Debut: 9 Jan 1988 - Boston FC, 1 Gainsborough Town 1
