Defender was ever-dependable over an eight-year spell

Jason Callaby (Defender, 1995 - 2003)

A number of Poachers players over the decades have been regarded as the Mr Reliable of their era.

But few would have a better claim to the title than the ever-dependable defender Jason Callaby.

After a spell in the Southern League with Grantham Town in 1993, Jason moved to the United Counties League and was snapped up eagerly by Bob Don-Duncan to strengthen his championship-winning squad.

Jason, who also had spells with Stamford, Spalding United, Holbeach United, was always popular with the fans at Tattershall Road and went on to make more than 200 appearances for the club over the next eight years.

Despite being hampered by injury at various points of his career, Jason has shown remarkable longevity beyond his time with Boston Town, continuing to don the boots well into his 40s, most recently as player-manager with Alford Town.

Debut: 2 Sep 1995 - Stotfold 2, Boston Town 1
