Boston Town 5, Holbeach 0

Town thrash the Tigers in the Lincs Senior Trophy

The Poachers pulled off one of their most memorable victories of recent seasons as they hammered Holbeach.

It ended the visitors' 11-match unbeaten run in spectacular style.

This Lincs Senior Trophy tie exploded into life just before half-time when Richard Ford and Jack Wightwick scored in rapid succession.

Matt Kennedy added a third soon after the break and when Simon Ashton scored a fourth, the Poachers were in dreamland.

Wighwtick scored again to make it 5-0 late on to register Boston's first county cup win since 2011.

They have exited the Lincs Senior Trophy at the first hurdle in the last three seasons - losing on penalties at Holbeach a year ago after a dramatic 4-4 draw.

Mark Angel's men also gained revenge for their 1-0 defeat to the Tigers in the league earlier this season at the DWB Stadium.

The Poachers will be away to Deeping in the next round.
