Poachers sign Italian midfielder

Mark Angel hails arrival of Alessandro Zarrelli

Boston Town have announced the signing of Italian midfielder Alessandro Zarrelli.

The 31-year-old has played for a string of clubs in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland over the past decade.

He moves to the DWB Stadium from North West Counties League side Widnes, having also previously played this season for St Cuthbert Wanderers in the South of Scotland League.

Poachers boss Mark Angel said: "We are delighted to sign Alessandro who has played at a good level and has vast experience. He will be a big asset to the club."

Alex's other previous clubs include Lisburn Distillery, AFC Wimbledon, Queens Park, Northwich Victoria, Hucknall Town and Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

The Turin-born defensive midfielder graduated in Sport Development at Leeds Metropolitan University and has recently coached at Hibernian.
