Poachers aim for Holbeach hat-trick

Wood suspended for quarter-final

Boston Town will be without Michael Wood when they take on Holbeach in the league cup quarter-final tomorrow night (Wed 9 March).

The long-serving defender serves the first of a two-match suspension.

But Jason Callaby's side travel to Carters Park in good spirits after their stirring 3-2 win over third-placed Newport Pagnell on Saturday.

They'll be hoping to rip up the form book again by knocking out fourth-placed Holbeach, who still have faint hopes of winning the title.

Despite their lowly standing in the table, Boston have already beaten the Tigers twice this season - 2-1 away in the league and 5-0 at home in the county cup.

To add further spice to an already tasty-looking local derby, the Holbeach squad features several ex-Poachers including Aaron Eyett and Josh Ford.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm and the winners will be at home to Wisbech in the semi-final.
