Lori in temporary charge

Club stalwart to be assisted by Darren Bevan

The ever popular Lori Borbely has temporarily taken charge of team affairs.

He will be assisted by Darren Bevan, who's currently heading up Boston Town's new Under 17 Development Squad.

A club spokesman said the pair would be in charge for next few games until a permanent new manager was appointed.

The change follows the resignation of Nathan Collins as manager after a dismal start to the season which has seen the Poachers lose all five games so far.

It had been expected that assistant manager Jason Callaby would step up to replace him - but he has turned down the job, saying the time is not right for him.

Lori has twice previously acted as caretaker boss and is hugely respected by players and fans alike. He joined the club more than a decade ago and is closing in on the rare milestone of 400 appearances for Boston Town.

Darren holds a UEFA ‘B’ coaching licence and his new Under 17s side are scheduled to kick off their first campaign in the Mid Lincs County A league on 4 September.
