Fog causes early finish against Wellingborough

A surprisingly entertaining match on a heavy Tattershall Road pitch came to an abrupt end in the 68th minute as fog decended on the DWB.

Wellingborough had been good value for a one nil lead at the half, the goal coming from a half-cleared corner. The visitors had already hit the woodwork twice.

But the Poachers hadn`t exactly played second fiddle - Hungarian striker Bence Farago cleverly dispossessed The Doughboys` keeper Aaron Bellairs ony to see his goalbound shot stick in the mud at the Dog End of the ground.

The fog started descending towards the end of the first period and looked liked it might ease during the break. However, after Curtis Revell somehow spooned Farago`s sublime through ball wide of Wellingborough goal, visibility deteriorated and referee Manolescu was forced to call an early finish to proceedings.

Boston are next in action next Saturday, December 3rd in a rearranged fixture at Northampton Sileby Rangers.

Poachers: James Lambley, Pinner, Howitt, Ashton, Forth, Ford, Loz Lambley, Hardy (Sparrow), Farago, Maddison, Revell. Subs, not used: Demeter, Nuttell, Borbely.
