Poachers suffer second festive defeat

Boston Town 0, Deeping 2

An understrength Boston Town side went down to a second derby defeat in three days.

With Mark Angel away, Jason Callaby was in charge of the side but could not prevent in-form Deeping from moving up to fourth place courtesy of two first half goals.

Having lost Aaron Eyett to Holbeach before Chrstmas, the Poachers will now have to cope with the departure of top scorer Jack Wightwick, who is expected to sign for Evo-Stik Northerm Premier League Premier Division outfit Stamford.

With Loz Lambley and Michael Wood missing, Callaby drafted young reserve keeper Joe Ashton into the back four.

Craig Parker and Richard Ford both went close after the break but couldn't pull the home side back into the game,

Town: Doughty, J Ashton, Parker, Ford, Nuttell, S Ashton, Parnell, McGuigan, Beck,  Barker (Fleming), Borbely.
