Local bragging rights
Gary Edgley was full of praise for Alex Nichols and Ollie Pinner as they fired Boston Town into the 2nd Round of the Lincs Senior Trophy.
Nichols' second half winner was his first goal for the club.
The Poachers had fallen behind, only for Pinner to equalise from 25 yards.
Pinner, who has missed much of the season because of a hernia operation, was made captain for the night as the Poachers had eight players missing.
Gary Edgley said: "Last night anyone who watched the game got the chance to see the other side of my team - yes, we want to play football but in some games and on some surfaces you just can’t. Last night was all about just getting into the next round, so my players had to show heart, work hard and a desire to win, and they showed that.
"We tried to play our football when we could but I think the only time the ball ever went straight was when it was in the air! My back four were brilliant and Travis Portas is proving what a top goalkeeper he is, stopping anything that did get through. It was a tough night for my midfield because of the playing surface but they worked so hard on and off the ball.
"I changed it around a bit and put Ollie Pinner up top with Raducan and they were a constant threat to the Sleaford defence and in all honesty should have had a couple of goals each.
"I just also want to mention Alex Nichols who got the winning goal. I’m so pleased for him to have got his goal, he’s a great lad who gives this team everything whether it’s on the training ground or on the pitch and he has a fantastic attitude that the younger players at the club can learn from."
Town: Portas, Lytvynets, Borbely, Tate, Cunliffe, Walker, Yenibertiz, Deane, Raducan, Pinner (Holland), Nichols
