The Poachers suffered a first league defeat since October as Sherwood Colliery went top of the table.
Chris Funnell’s side threatened to pull off a last-gasp comeback after debutant Shaun Archer snatched an 89th minute goal but they couldn’t find an equaliser despite vehement appeals for a stoppage time penalty.
